Box office moneymaker Sammi Cheng is back for her annual New Year romance as a cloistered kung fu master of the Omei clan. Louis Koo is a playboy from Hong Kong who travels to Omei because it hurts when he pees and is looking for a cure. When he leaves Omei for Hong Kong, Cheng follows, to learn what is required to master the "Broken Heart" stance. Uninspired goofiness throughout, the normally talented Sammi searches for a real moment but comes up empty, while Louis Koo is empty throughout and no more engaging than a coat rack. Directors Johnnie To and Wai Ka Fei usually deliver the goods, this time we're left holding the bag.
