Love is Butterfly
Hong Kong 2002
Directed by Law Wai Tak .

Four stories about love and soft drinks. Starring Loletta Lee, Charmaine Sheh, Rachel Lee, and a soda vending machine. Each of the four parts is named after a beverage, like "Escaping Sprite" or "Forever Coke." One of the girls is named Creamy because (wait for it) she loves Schweppes Cream Soda. When you are unhappy, the movie instructs, you can drink a soda and leave your worries inside the can. Besides being a Coke salesman's fever dream, the movie also has some nice moments of girl bonding friendship. A chick flick to the core, it was worrisome to find I had gotten bored before the opening credits finished. It got better, but never adds up to more than a mildly pleasant diversion.
