Secret Society, The - The Best Hack
Hong Kong 2003
Directed by Lam Wai Yin.

Continuing right where The Secret Society - Boss left off, with gang leader Ng Chi Hung on the lam in Shenzhen, and Lee Siu Kay living it up back in Hong Kong. Or at least, he should be, but his arm has been slashed, and the injury has made him overly sensitive of his age and weakness and he keeps lashing out at everyone around him. His second in command (Jason Chu) needs to decide whether to stick by his boss or help Vincent Wan take him out before his increasing irrationality becomes a major liability. We are supposed to care about Chu's character, but he was such a complete bastard in the first film, I couldn't care less. Weepy interludes with his honest girlfriend (Anita Chan) are agonizingly boring. Lee Siu Kay gives a fine, strikingly abrasive performance. Shot on video.
