Women from Mars
Hong Kong 2002
Directed by Raymond Yip, Andrew Lau.

Michael Wong, Ekin Cheng, and Cheung Tat-Ming treat women poorly and have their penises removed as punishment from Hell. They have a limited time to find women to tell them they love them or lose their penises forever. Everyone worked on this film on the cheap to help actor/producer Ng Chi-Hung out of debt. It's your basic "what if?" situation comedy played strictly for laughs. Eking Cheng gets his own radio show talking about women's issues, Francis Ng is the station manager, and Wayne Lai is Cheng's transvestite arch-nemesis. Michael Wong in this film reminded me again why he keeps getting cast, he can be funny and charming, when he is relaxed and in a role that suits him. But the standouts of the cast have to be Louis Koo and Shu Qi as messengers from Hell.

Rating: Marginally Recommended (Marginally Recommended)
